We entered Death Valley from Lone Pine, which is underneath Mt. Whitney in the Eastern Sierra. You actually cross several valleys and mountain ranges before getting the lower valley. Then we took a fun hike through Mosaic Canyon and had first round of root beers at Panamint Springs.
